Very helpful and friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble
Noisy wedding party disturbed me in an upstairs bedroom above the main function room, but the music stopped at midnight. I would advise guests to check whether a function is booked during their stay

The restaurant at the hotel was excellent, with the staff showing great professionalism. We both enjoyed delicious dishes. The view across the Deer Park was superb, and we really appreciated it. The location was nice and made it easy for us to walk to all the places we wanted to go.

The staff were pleasant and very helpful, this was our second visit having been there for our son's wedding some years ago.
I considered the a la carte menu to be be overpriced.

The place was perfectly clean. The staff was decent and efficient. It was a short walk to a deer park, Durham, the surrounding countryside, and the Church – lovely location overall. The hotel was as expected, and I had a very nice stay for one night.

The old house was beautiful as was the traditional style and decor. The rooms were a very nice place to be; comfortable and tastefully decorated. My particular favourite was the library restaurant; a wonderful room. I don't really understand why only 3 stars have been awarded. I asked and it is because there is no lift! The deer park was a real bonus. We will book again.
The extraction fan didn't work in the bathroom and the shower temperature control continually crept up, increasing the water temp. requiring the bather to be constantly turning it down.
